It is wonderful to see the new teaser trailer!

It did come out of nowhere. I had no idea a Mary Poppins teaser would drop on Oscar night.

One thing I was surprised by was how muted the colors were. I was actually a little worried and thinking "Wait, is the whole movie going to be like this? Is this the new 21st century thing? Where are the lively colors we used to love seeing? Is this a Zach Snyder movie now?" But then I remembered some other photos released a while ago that did have much more warmth and color. So this trailer was probably just a scene where everything is overcast and gloomy.

It was very nice seeing the kids grown up (I know it's not the original actors, but I think they make a cameo elsewhere in the film?). With brand new songs and a new generation, this movie should do very well this Christmas season.

I think it is being toned down on purpose Atomic, I think we might be somewhere in the Second World War or just before it in the story.

I don't think the film will focus too heavily on it superficially but I do think there will be a cold storm sweeping in from the East and why we need to keep our chins up and see the bright future at the other side of it.

That might account for the colour correction.

I agree with what you said, Juror 8. I think the gloomy grey/blue coloring is meant to convey a depressed mood to signify the hardships that the Banks family is facing, but things will brighten up (both literally and figuratively) when Mary Poppins arrives.

I'm very excited for this movie (being the life-long fan of Mary Poppins and Disney that I am), but I can't help feeling that all of these Disney/fantasy movies look alike. It's always the same, predictable visual aesthetic: dark blue and grey= sadness; bright, jewel-tone colors= happiness. I'd like to see Hollywood attempt to do something different for a change.
