The cat...

Was anyone else shocked that the cat didnt die? They finally made a movie where the cat didnt die! When i saw the cat oh great he is going to be the first one to die! But he didnt! They let the cat live in this movie!
Props to the director for not making the cat die!!!

Yeah, it was nice to see that cliche (of the cute animal being killed) not get trotted out yet again.

I also kind of liked that the movie even went as far to show that him messing around with the cat meant that he wasn't actually paying attention to the house/Maddie.

I was pleased. Animals killed for shock value is a tired trope.

I was looking away and holding my breath hahaha. I hate it when animals die in slashers. But I was so relieved they bypassed that trope for the film. It made it different. The suspense was intense. Haha.

Debra Morgan: "Goddamn pantyhose! Has anyone ever died from crotch asphyxiation?"

This was one of the highlights of the movie for me. Honest to god. (I rated it 10/10 because I loved the movie that much.) But seriously, the animal-death thing is cheap and stupid and always decreases horror quality IMO, it's pure mindless shock value. Also very glad the director didn't do such a thing!

I was happy that didn't happen. Although I was worried they were going to go that route.
