Why the glass doors?

I always wonder why do they show glass doors in almost all the horror movies and still the crazy killer doesn't even try to break in.
Secondly if you are living in the woods then it's wise to get a house with wooden doors at least they will save you from wild animals.

But at night if you have lights on inside and none on outside you wouldn't see a thing.

I would always be paranoid in a house surrounded by big windows. Those suckers would have to be unbreakable for me to feel safe at all. At least make sure my bedroom has a good lock.

Even if they were unbreakable I wouldn't want that many windows because i'd feel like i was living in a fish tank or something with everyone looking in.

What are words for when no one listens anymore

You would go bankrupt if you had to pay for these armoured glass panels. I assume you would demand at least Class 4 quality since you want "unbreakable".

Well in this movie the killer mentions he could easily get inside the house (I'd imagine smashing through the glass doors would be a good option), buy he says he won't get inside until she wishes she were dead.

Wild animals? What kind of wild animals are you thinking of?

Well to be fair the glass doors did stand up to him hitting them several times with a tyre iron. He was definitely trying to get in by that point and was putting his strength into it and they still didn't smash, just crack a bit. Must have been some kind of security/safety glass. So I would say they were pretty effective. If only she had that on her bathroom window which is how he did get in.

In regards to why he didn't try to break in at first, he said at the beginning that he could get in any time he wanted to, but he wanted to see her break down in fear first.

It's harder to break through a glass door or window than you'd think. I tried it once, when I locked myself out of my house.
