Enjoyable...

Nothing earth-shattering, but a variety of about 8-10(?) vignettes/stories.

Overall, an entertaining low budget. Not really much gore.

Yeah, it was unremarkable yet not completely horrible either. The masks in the trick r treaters segment were not too shabby. I wish the last story had been better, and the monster under the bed one hadn't been so predictable. Otherwise, there are worse anthologies. I wonder if this will become a tradition like the VHS series. To be honest, I'd rather watch more of these than those awful VHS movies.

Agreed. I dropped out of the VHS series - just too much shaky cam and crappy acting. I'd definitely like to see another AHE if they can keep up some quality. I appreciated that there were a large number of stories versus 3 stretched/filler ones.

If I remember correctly, the first AHE had one good story with a lot of tension that I thought could have been a great full movie with good actors and a better budget. I think it was a clown who kept following a girl.

That was decent, but it went too far with the story, and the budget restraints were too obvious/deterring. I remember seeing it as a standalone short movie before AHE came out.

AHE had some okay stories - quick and to the point. But then others sucked, like the abusive parent one. It was just the execution of the vignette that didn't work for me. And the last story was a bit too generic to be the final tale. The wraparound wasn't too inventive either. Very Ring-like.
