Found this a bit Disturbing.

I have started watching the first season and liking it a lot, but that guy with that a** hole face is really disturbing. I don't know why they would show such a deformed character on screen with no real purpose for such cosmetic deformation. And on top of that he is getting more and more screen time with each passing episode. I have never seen such a disturbing character in any Movie.

No real purpose? He shot himself in the face, he carries those scars with him, constant reminder of what he did.

Slurp face is both the deformity and blessing that they all search for. Bad past and hopeful future is giving God a hard on, so he's the heart of this show

many years since i read the comics and this is the tv-show, at first i was impressed with how well they pulled it off. And then a bit annoyed about how damned much screentime they gave him. Felt like they were a little to proud of the work. In retrospect it probably was to make him beeing accidently sent to hell feel worse though.

It´s beer o´clock. Wheres my riot?

@khurramatif

Read the comics---he's a significant character in there,too---in fact, the entire series is pretty disturbing in its own right. His backstory's pretty messed up,too.

I knew his injury reminded me of someone I'd seen profiled on one of the "magazine" shows many years ago. You may already know that "Arseface" is based on a real person. If not, or for more info, just Google "Judas Priest subliminal message trial" or "James Vance." (Sorry, I couldn't copy the links.) Just FYI, the photos that come up when you search the latter are even more disturbing, IMO, than the character's face on the show.

It's my guess that one or more of the creators or writers heard about the story, and it had a significant impact.
