Where all the good neighbors are dying - possible spoilers

My hubby and I just started watching this fast-paced show and was enjoying it ...UNTIL a very sweet neighbor was killed. WHY? That person (I will try not to give too many details of who that is) was such a wonderful character and added some fun to the series. We are both just heartbroken - anyone else?

Did that actor/actress want out of the series? Just so shocked! We are just learning the names of these village people and BAM! they are gone, far too soon for our liking!
