I had high hopes for it.

I just saw it last night. I thought it was going to be really good.

I was disappointed. I didn't think much of it.

First, I have studied WWII for years and I was quite familiar with "The Miracle At Dunkirk" and if one wasn't already familiar with the event than I don't see how they'd really know what the situation was and what was going on.

Second, the scope was too small to me. We just kind of follow a couple of situations, the one guy in his little yacht and a couple of soldiers and a pilot. That didn't really cover enough to really get the sense of what happened at Dunkirk.

It was very disjointed to me and didn't adequately explain what Dunkirk was and what happened at Dunkirk.

Cinematically it was beautiful to look at but I feel this film was a big miss.

Imagine a D-Day movie directed by Nolan. There would be 2 planes, 1 landing craft, 10 allied soldiers and 5 German soldiers in a trench.

Then people would go on social medias calling it realistic and gritty.

lol, seriously. Nolanites, their fanboy mentality is one of the worst I've seen.

The scope was garbage - this is a scenario made for CGI. Nolan's self-imposed limitations hindered the film. Pisses me off a bit, actually.
