Some good war movies lately

Between Fury, Hacksaw Ridge and this there have been some really good war movies lately!

Yup... all very cinematic and in very different styles... we still haven't had many (any?) solid war movies about the recent/current wars, but i suppose they are too close to home... or maybe because those regions are in civil war now which is harder to do in a large scale movie... also, world war 2 was existential battle for all sides, so a different level really...

Jarhead was good, shot cinematically, but it was more of a drama then a proper war movie as that war itself was a bit strange...

Black hawk dawn, etc... aren't really very good as movies... none of the afganistan movies are good war movies... only dramas like charlie wilsons war and the overrated hurt locker and zero dark thirty...

Fury is underrated... very cinematic movie, with some real moments of dispair...

Black Hawk Down is one of the best war movies. In my opinion the second best war movie ever. Fury was very good and the South Korean war movie Mai Wei (2011) is excellent also. There's been a few really good war movies from SK in the past ten years or so.

I really should check those out... I like some of the South Korean movies I've seen, but I haven't seen any of their war movies...
