Do you think a middle aged American would like?

I always stayed away from the silly Bean stuff. I just saw enough of it and my son and Mom thought it funny. (I love Faulty Towers and Dave Allen and Doctor Who from way back) but cannot stand Monty Python...

That said I know this isnt comedic, and that's ok, should I try it? I mean is it a meandering thing US laymen wont "get"? Or do you recommend something else?

I love foreign stuff as long as it is dramatic (always feel more genuine to me. maybe its the outsider feeling inwardly like we all do)

I enjoy watching old repeats of Faulty Towers but not keen on Monty. the other half loves it.

I was pleasantly surprised as I have only seen Rowan in comic role characters. He played Maigret very well and I look forward to seeing him playing the character again later on in this year.

I will be honest and have never read the books, so not sure about the accuracy of the chief inspector.

The one off special took time to warm up but then got engrossed, so the two-hour slot passed away swiftly (but that is my opinion only).

if you like very very slow moving detective stories, then yes. Though personally I thought the micahel gambon ones were a lot better.
