Is it Just Me or is Boy Meets Girl Trying Hard to Be Like...

Gavin & Stacey, but with a bit of a twist? Don't get me wrong, I really like Boy Meets Girl. I don't see age and I don't see gender here; I just see two people who really like each other and that is refreshing. I just feel they are making the supporting characters too much like the supporting players from G&S. I think it would have been nice if they went a different direction than to make one family a little more low-class and quirky and the other more middle class with the respective families siblings engaging in a love-hate-love relationship.
