She came across as arrogant and supercilious.
I haven't liked her since so I wish her bad luck
Until you've met her and gotten to know her, that's your perception of things. And to wish someone bad luck for how you perceived her statement (which you've added implication to) you sound arrogant and supercilious. And of course, Americans living in the "greatest country in the world" never think they're superior to other people, cultures and countries.
