thats a surprise..they barely won anything and normally people who win best director wins best picture but this was a shock 🐭

Should have been "The Revenant." "Spotlight" was good, but...

I watched "Spotlight" yesterday and i wasnt too impressed. Its a good movie with good actors but its not on the same level as "The Revenant". Im a little disappointed even though such an Award doesnt mean that much anyway.

Yes, it looks like it won best picture because the Academy liked the topic. Doesn't sound like something I want to see.

My jaw was on the ground when Morgan Freeman said Spotlight. I was HOPING it was a Steve Harvey flub and The Revenant was the winner, but that was definitely the SHOCKER of the evening! Spotlight? Spotlight? Are you KIDDING me?!! That was so out of left field.

I totally agree with the other comments in this thread. It should have been The Revenant.
Seems to be a comment on the attitudes of the Oscar voters about the Catholic Church, more than anything. Everyone knows there has been abuse, but the film was lackluster, and nowhere near the greatness of The Revenant!
