5.7??

My 9 year old wants to see this, and my 7 year old says ok too. But if it's getting that low of a rating then I don't see the point. I heard Storks was bad, but it's getting a 7.2. Anyone seen both and have an opinion?

Are you seriously judging a movie off of IMDb ratings??

reply

It's true that the IMdB ratings are unreliable, but if a movie has a 5.7, then it's probably not worth watching.

The rating might not be great but the user reviews are mostly positive. Keep in mind IMDB is a site that generally attracts adults, so kids might love this movie.

I saw Storks and I thought it was okay. Kids would probably love it. I haven't seen this, but this looks like something I would gobble up when I was ten.

Middle School is definitely better than a 5.7. It's probably about a 7.5. It's not great but it is very good. I'm a grown man with 3 kids 9 to 13. All of my kids and wife enjoyed the movie.

I havnt seen Storks. I HAVE seen this movie. I,m an adult. I laughed out loud several times. Some of the stuff is kind of dumb but the gags are not exactly meant to be believable.
This has small episodes of animation. The main character is a young artist who draws comic book type characters and from time to time we see the characters come to life.
Kids should really like this. It touches base with some exaggerated real life situations. There are heartfelt moments that keep things together and make it "human".
Honestly I didnt like school all that much and it pokes fun at some of the things that makes school kind of unlikable to many kids.
The main kids are very likable even if they are mischievous.
There is a message about standardized testing that adults may relate to as well as kids.

I would say that you should check it out.

I thought the movie was very good and my 8-year-old daughter loved it. As we were leaving, I heard other kids in the theater say they liked it, too. This movie does not follow the formula for a 7+ rating on IMDB. The plot is something that would appeal to kids, not grown adults. The plot twists are predictable. The cliches about school life are the same cliches that have been used since the 80s. To an adult, these may be a turnoff. To a child, they may find it entertaining.

To me, an IMDB rating the 5s means that about half of the visitors liked the movie. To me, if you have any interested in kid-centered movies, you will like this. I have the feeling that this would be a great movie to being your 9 and 7-year-old to.

I took my 14 year old son to this movie. We both liked it. It even made me tear up a bit, at the end, when you realize who Leo is. And I somewhat applauded when the teacher was talking about standardized testing.

kids from high school might give a higher rating for this movie. Maybe you already watch this movie, but I'm sure your family will like it.
