No really, avoid.

So bad they gave up making before it was over. Okay, that part was a blessing as it was over. And you do get a scene that has the worse delivered monologue I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of bad films. But other than that milestone this movie has nothing to recommend it.

I take it back the photography was not half bad but I'm not very knowledgeable about such things.

Well I read your review of it and I'm sorry to say, it's made me want to see it :)

In return, I offer you this : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1686897/?ref_=fn_al_tt_6

It's quite literally the worst thing I have ever seen and it'll take every ounce of strength you've got to keep watching, just make sure you get the The Bunker 2014 as there's other films called 'The Bunker' that simply don't meet the low grade that this one achieves.

Enjoy

I totally get that. I never listen to others warnings and usually it piques my interest.

Just looked up The Bunker and it seems like I'll be spared as it sounds like the type of film I would enjoy even if it were good. Not my cup of tea.

I really should start keeping a list and notes of the really bad films so I could inflict them on people like ourselves. Unfortunately I tend to forget them soon after I've seen them.

You've dodged a bullet there then. I think keeping a crap-list would be a great idea, I'll probably be starting tonight shortly after watching Playing with Dolls :)

Just finished watching it, and, yeh that was bad.. like really really bad. At least there were some good looking women, and it was mercifully short, both of which raises it above the bar of The Bunker although at least that had an ending. It's still a 1 from me, so it was a fair warning, adding it to my crap-list :)

As my first high school girlfriend said "if you can't be good, be quick." 

I wish I could remember the movie that I thought without hyperbole was the worst movie I ever watched. And then got on iMDB and saw it had a 1.3 rating. Only film I've found that had NO 9 or 10 votes. I can almost picture the poster but I think my mind must be protecting itself by blocking it completely out.

"Oh yeah. I mean think about it. If you loved me as much as I love you we'd never leave the bedroom. Nothing would get done. We'd die of starvation."

It appears I only have around 14 films rated 1, of those the only horrors are Bloodlust, Muck, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, a Voodoo Possession, and Dead Sea (which curiously is currently at 3.9, might have to revisit that just to make sure I wasn't in a terrible mood at the time). I could perhaps squeeze out a 2 for Uwe Boll's just for the sheer love to hate aspect.

I think any film, regardless of genre, worthy of a dazzling 1.3 would be well worth a watch so if you ever find it, color me interested

reply

Wow, House of the Dead is at 2.0.
I find that movie to be very high into the 'so bad it is great' category. I find it hilarious.

I'm not sure how to check but I don't think I've ever voted anything a 1. I always assume I can find worse  If I did it would be that film I'm trying to remember.

Edit: I think I found it- 2012: Ice Age

I'm not sure because it is Asylum and I usually give them a tiny bit of a break as they actively try to be bad (Watch Ghostshark sometime. Wonderfully horrendous) but this is my best guess without watching it again. Which is not going to happen.

I'll track Ghost Shark and 2012 Ice Age down and take a look, thankfully I have tomorrow off work and a lot to do so I can throw them on in the background and not feel I've lost anything. Not sure if I should thank you or not for the tips though ;)

I'll give House of the Dead another go too, I just remember being filled with sheer detest at the slaughter of a fun game, albeit one without a story. Alone in the Dark though, I'm not letting go, Uwe threw that on the bonfire to burn.

FWIW to see the number 1s, as it were, I went to 'My profile name' -> 'Your ratings' -> Sort by 'Your Ratings' -> Order by 'Ascending'.

and yeh, i give Asylum a break too, I like how open they are to their methods for making money, and the Sharknados' were a bit of fun.

I was surprised to see I have given 7 1s over the years (the movie we are supposed to be talking about I gave a 2 - just for your point of reference.)

The first Sharknado I found to be a letdown. It took itself too seriously and it just didn't work. But perhaps my expectations had risen given the unusual amount (any) of promotion going on.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Alone in the Dark but I think I've stitched it together with Mimic (my mind is strange place) and now I don't remember it being that bad. I'm one of those rare people for whom Christian Slater is a plus. 

Okay so, Ghost Shark was actually really good fun, I guess there's a point in these films where acting, story and er.. 'special' effects just really don't matter. I'd normally watch crappy films whilst working but I honestly watched that with nothing else going on and enjoyed it. The girls helped.

I really liked Sharknado, I did see it before the hype train got moving at any great speed though, similar to the Blair Witch but that was a whole different time frame, only way to see that here back then was by downloading a cam copy over modem over a week, had to watch it piecemeal every day and it was awesome, then it came out in our theatres and the hype kicked off, rather lessened the appeal, not to mention the camera work made me feel sick on the big screen, anyway I digress, for some reason I gave Sharknado 2 an 8, might have been drunk that night, least I hope I was. I'll revisit that and re-evaluate as that seems rather high :)

I want to say Mimic was awful, but I have it a 7. Not sure what happened there either, maybe it's better than I remember.

Christian Slater has an immediate pass on everything he's ever done/will do thanks in part for Pump up the Volume and True Romance, John Cusack is in a similar position for his past roles. Slater in Alone in the Dark though, he owes everyone a pint or three :)

Nice thing about Ghost Shark was that as absurd as it was it had rules and was internally consistent. I don't expect that level of scripting from Asylum. That it was campy fun beyond that was wonderful.

I assume you've seen Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus? I measure all SyFy movies against this one.

I was going to post that to you last message except end it with Heathers which is still one of my favorite dark comedies. He even made incredibly dumb scripts like Kuffs a fun watch.

Totally agree about John Cusack. Time was I would have thrown Val Kilmer onto that list. But he went on to greatly and consistently disappoint the last few decades.

Two movies that are simply bad with no redeeming qualities:
Age of Tomorrow
Hyperfutura

"As falls Wichita so falls Wichita Falls"
