This is a brilliant show

I loved it.

The slow reveal of how much lying and manipulating he does on a daily basis. How it starts with the premise that he is a damaged individual, but actually in a very different way. And then all the turns with London's character. And all of this had a comedic undertone to it - it was just a perfect mix of comedy, drama, character study and mystery.

I did not predict that London was the sister of the guy killed even though I think I should have seen that coming. I did predict that Chip took the fall for Tilly. And that's what I like in mysteries/twists the ability to predict it, but you don't always predict it.

I liked it a lot too. I did not see those two twists coming and I really liked how the story went into unexpected places after those reveals. The show was different than I expected.

I saw an interview with Arnett where he was promoting this show and the way he talked about it made it sound more like a straight up comedy, I was pleasantly surprised to see him give a subtle subtle performance, but still funny. Like you said, perfect mix of comedy and drama.

I've been a fan of Arnett ever since I first saw him in AD and I try to watch everything he's in, I hope they make more seasons of Flaked.

I wouldn't call brilliant but it's interesting, i watched every episode in one sitting, i loved all the Actors.

I imagined there were a twist to happen, but my guessing is that she would happen to be his daughter, i know the age wouldn't work, but she can pass for a 25 and Arnett can be a 40 easily.

London being the sister of the guy killed in the drunk driving accident would have been a lot easier to predict if it made any sense that she would fall for the guy she thinks killed her brother.

I agree about London. I could see him doing everything under the sun to woo her, and her showing a lot of interest in getting to know all about him, but then have it be a last second reveal of who she is and why she is doing it, with absolutely no romantic intentions at all, which of course would doubly upset Chip's friend who has nothing but romantic interests in her.

"Was it part of your plan". was that Dark Knight Rises reference or just coincidence?

I agree.

I'm thinking it lies in the middle with audiences simply because it isn't pretentious enough to woo "those types" that are a bit snobbish when it comes to TV/film.

I was surprised by this in multiple ways throughout.

One complaint I keep seeing is people wondering if it's supposed to be strictly comedy, drama, dramedy, etc... why can't it just be?

Acting in this is fantastic. Really hoping for another season.
