Venice

I really enjoyed the show with find it really amusing how they portray Venice.
In reality Venice is not a cute little beach town near Los Angeles . It is a town that is inhabited by the very wealthy, homes are priced well into the millions and rent is absolutely atrociously high. Normal people cannot possibly afford to live there.
The restaurants are absurd Lee trendy and extremely expensive. There's no such thing as a quick coffee shop where you can get a normal priced coffee. Everything is priced for the market that lives there.
People still love to think of it as a hipster town but in reality it is changed. It is now for the mega rich.

Maybe you would care to elaborate?
What are you arguing against? Are you saying that the housing is not priced in the millions? Are you saying that rent prices are not exorbitantly high? That the restaurants and shops are not ultra chic and expensive? Are you under the impression that starving artists, hippies, and surfers live there?
I am not sure of your argument?
This is a fun show but the town being portrayed is as fictious as Emerald City!
What do you think the median income in Venice is?

Good to know. The whole "Free Coffee" shop is as misleading as Gob's "Free Chicken" act. I think this might've been intentional for AD fans to somehow connect it.

The coffee shop on the show sells a black coffee for $4.50. So I'm not sure that's unrealistic.

I buy a tall coffee at the Fauxbux (grocery store Fourbux kiosk) for $1.09 every morning and I get a free refill on the rewards card. I used to get a free item every 12 purchased cups but they changed their rewards program to cash spent and not items bought, so my 2.5 free rewards every month is now 1 reward every 2 months, but I still get a couple of 55cent coffees everyday. This is the only advantage that I have discovered from reaching 55. I'm keeping my savings for the eventual pancreas transplant.

I only watched into E04 so far. But Jerry, Chip's father-in-law, intends to sell the house with the store for $ 4m and London has moved into Chip's studio, because she could not find an affordable place anywhere. So I don't think they pretend that living comes cheap in Venice.
