Unlikable protagonist temporarily denied gratification.

The true title of this series. And considering the supporting characters are dumb as rocks to our hero's blatant narcissism, there is no one left to root for.

Why do you have to root for anyone? this isn't sports, most of the most enjoyable and quality television made in the last years have protagonists that i root against, like Breaking Bad or House of Cards

Who says a protagonist has to be likable?
You don't have to be likable to be relatable. If anything a flawed, or narcissistic character is more real.

What I like about it is most of the characters are types of people I've encountered in life. I can relate to them. That's why I love this show. And I'm not rooting for anyone as well. Will Arnett is so talented that this vehicle is second best to Arrested Dev. Never cared for the Millers.
