Hedwigs Dance had more going on within it

Hedwigs Dance https://youtu.be/FnFMS11g4fM?list=LL

What I got from the scene upon my second viewing, with an analytical eye, is Hedwigs dance is a physical representation of the inner turmoil of Kevin Wendell Crumbs mind. All the psyches fighting for dominance and finally culminating in the ultimate personality strong enough to defend Kevin forever. With the arise of "the Beast" all the other psyches will dissipate. Thats why most of them were afraid of the Beast personality. A crayon picture hanging on the wall alludes to this happening as you see a giant dark monster rising up and all these tiny stick figures are running terrified while being devoured by it.

But Hedwig, Dennis, and Patricia wanted the Beast personality to emerge because they wanted Kevin to be safe and protected. Hedwig is the inner child who just wants to be safe and have fun without fear or insecurity. Dennis is the strongest personality but wasnt strong enough to protect Kevin himself which is why all these other personalities emerged. Patricia is the personality intelligent enough to understand the Beast and cold enough to accept what is required for him to arise and take over. They all are bonded together out of a desire to protect Kevin.

Dennis himself admits that he emerged because Kevin needed to be protected. The psychiatrist coaxes this out of him when she talks to him getting him to admit he is Dennis pretending to be another personality.

Getting back to the dance, think of it through this concept. The first part of his dancing is the inner struggle of personalities, then the second part is the beast emerging and taking dominance over all. You'll know what I mean when you watch it again.
