He probably becomes a beast and not a complete werewolf. The psychiatrist will either be behind all of it for no apparent reason. Just some crazy thing she wanted to once she got bored with her job. Or, it'll turn out being his mother. She'll have raised the boy to be mentally unstable. And so she manipulates his every move and starts believing her crazy idea. Almost like she's possessed by a beast in a demonic sense. Like in her having such a twisted curiosity she brought on darkness that saw her become the one thing she was trying to create.

We have what we seek, it is there all the time, and if we give it time, it will make itself known.
