5/10: Bonedry situational humor, with alot more drama than comedy.

5/10

In short: It's a straight forward story about aspiring comedians and what happens when one makes it. Alot more drama than comedy. It's also slowpaced.

In longer: Nothing new in the cinematography (at least as far as i recall), it's what you can anticipate with a less than a handful of nice shots.
The sound is cut back which is most likely a choice - the impact simply being that it seems more realistic. And that is one of the problems with this movie, while being marked as a comedy/drama there really isn't many comedic elements active in the movie except the depicition of the area in which the plotline takes place (the movie isn't laugh out loud funny but it portrays comedians).

It is parodical in the sense it's a cliché that very much feels like it was intended as such and that that itself is a joke (inside or played on the viewer). If you are looking for laughs and don't like dry compartmentalised satire I would stay away.

If you are an aspiring comedian it should be a good watch, showing mundane life before comedic stardom.

Pro's
• Realistic
• Characters feel in sync with the roles

Con's
• Misslabeled as comedy/drama (instead of drama)

End notes: It feels like it's trying to break the 4th wall and convey a joke that is the movie itself.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.
