Miles (spoiler)

I thought the most interesting turn came when Miles decided to stay with his new girlfriend and raise her forthcoming baby as his own, when it wasn't. It felt like this was solely as a means of escape for him when he realized he was 36 and never going to get to Weekend Live as opposed to him feeling genuine love for her. I'm not sure if that was the intent, but I loved it because this happens a lot in life: people becoming trapped in their own lives and attaching themselves to someone else just to get themselves unstuck.

Great little indie gem that felt truthful about the effects of ambition and resentment on close relationships.

I got that vibe as well. I didn't like his character much, he was a self-obsessed jackass who seemed tragically unaware. I wonder how things would turn out with the new woman and child... maybe he would learn to step up, who's to say?

It sounded like he was in love with her back in school so there was a better chance of his crush blossoming into love than her falling for him. She too could be seen as settling for him because he was willing to play the dad role.

I thought he genuinely loved her. I don't think many men would see "settling down", getting a "real job" and raising someone else's biological child as a "way out" if they didn't want to be with that person.
