Just caught up with the first half of Season 4 on Netflix

I've been watching this show since it first started in 2016 on Netflix (originally airs on OWN). The first season had me hooked after a slow start - but I realized the first few episodes had to 'introduce' each character and their history. I also didn't like that they were using Oprah as 'big name' to get people to tune in (she didn't fit in with the rest of the cast) and I'm glad they're done with that.

Yet the show really grew on me, and picked up steam at a furious pace in seasons 2 and 3. What makes this show so entertaining is the excellent cast - starting with Merle Dandridge and Lynn Whitfield.

I didn't know Season 4 began already this Fall, as I don't get OWN. Now I'm caught up on Netflix and can't wait for it to return in January! For anyone who hasn't started watching this yet, try to catch up the first three and a half seasons over the next month or so. You will be glad you did.

I'm surprised it has never received the attention from the Golden Globes or Emmys it so richly deserves - even though the critics' reviews and viewers' reviews are mostly positive- especially for the cast.
