Predictable comedy

Having watched the first two episodes of `Rovers` it just comes across as another predictable comedy where the characters are all stereotypes, the situations tried and tried over again for example a character slagging off another whilst not realizing they are in the room. The goalkeeper dropping the refreshment bottle that is thrown to him.
Having seen that one of the writers is Joe Wilkinson it is not really surprising, when he appears on 8 out 10 cats, he is limited to shock tactics as he has nothing funny to say.
I would be surprised if there is a second series

Very constructive. Thanks.

It's essentially a Craig Cash comedy, not Joe Wilkinson. It's basically a matter of taste. If you didn't get "The Royals", or "Early Doors", you won't get this. It has an element of pathos that US comedies just don't. For me, it's quite brilliant in it's detail. There is an element of comedy slapstick there, I agree, but it's not overplayed.

I'd have loved another series of Early Doors, but in my opinion, this has been a worthy alternative. Like I said, it's a matter of taste. I'll be surprised and disappointed if they don't get another series.

I shall continue to watch the series and who knows it may win me over. I am a Craig Cash admirer my favorite series was `Sunshine`, I enjoyed `The Royle family`, but never saw `Early Doors. I am biased though I am just not a fan of Joe Wilkinson and so when I saw him on the writing credits it didn't help as I regard him as being blessed with as much talent as Rufus Hound

Do yourself a favour watch early doors it's in a different class to this rubbish.

I'm a huge fan of Early Doors. And think The Royle Family was great, before they started doing *beep* Christmas specials that weren't as funny as the original series.

This just hasn't taken off though. I'll watch to the end of the series, but it is nowhere near as good as Early Doors.
