Do we really need flim to TV follow up

Rush hour, lethal weapon training day do we really need them

The best flim to TV follow up is probably M*A*S*H

Westworld, The Exorcist, Dusk til Dawn....it seems to be the current in thing to serialise movies. Some good, some bad. Mash was awesome, would be interesting to see how well it would do with a remake

sneakers and enemy of the state are on their way

Good point. Mostly agree with you especially as the appeal of these movies was star chemistry. Doubt the tv shows will be able to come close.

I think it's better if the tv show is less of a followup/redo and more a continuation/spinoff. Like Minority Report and Limitless. That way it is its own thing.

Film takes from tv, too. Hollywood is mostly unoriginal.

Hawaii Five-O has been pretty good as well

reply

Hawaii Five-0 is just a remake of the original TV series in modern times. And with the exception of a few old characters it's made itself its own show.

reply

Except the writing for it has jumped the shark ages ago and has the reached the point where they base hiring writers on how little they know.

reply

No, we absolutely don't need it, it's a slap in the face to a fantastic film.

reply

It just seems like there is a real lack of originality out there. The only thing they seem to be able to do is stand on somebody else's successful work and try to cheap a hit, out of a remake/reboot. Sad time for all of us!

Couldn't agree more. It's a disgrace to these popular movies. Rush Hour, Limitless, Lethal Weapon (though it is doing OK).

It's that all there is now. Just make Movie to TV adaptations. Ugh.

Memphis Raines: I'm a little tired, a little wired, and I think I deserve a little appreciation!

Only Lethal Weapon was a good movie to begin with out of those

Rush Hour was good. Not as good as LW, but entertaining. At the end of the day, the plots are all repetitive and derivative anyway; the banter and relationship between the "buddies" is what makes the movie. I thought Tucker and Chan were quite funny together. Limitless was a hot mess.
