Tell me they didn't swith races?

Really? I like Bill Paxton, but I question the motivations behind this.

And for the record, I want Idris Elba to play James Bond and I liked the gender switch in Ghostbusters eventhough the rest of the movie is probably going to suck (race jokes and all).

Liberal political correctness says black people can no longer be cast as villains if the good guy is white. Rule 248(a) in the PC handbook. And yeah, stringer would make an incredible Bond, but they're talking about a lady Bond (see amendment 105 of PC handbook).

Ironically the original film was directed by a black director Antonione Fuqua and he had no problem with having a black villain and white hero.

As they should since the movie was based off the RAMPART division in L.A. The character Alonzo was supposed to be Ray Perez.

Elba is too old to play Bond.

The next movie won't happen until 2018/19 by then Elba will be 46 or 47. His lifespan as Bond would be 2 movies max. The producers need someone who's in their mid to late 30's, that way they can conceivably carry the franchise forward over the next decade or so and do 4 or 5 movies.

Despite reports to the contry I suspect Craig will do the next one anyway. That would mean the producers won't need to find a replacement for another 4 or 5 years, by which time Elba would be pushing 50 anyway.

You reaIize that Idris Elba is younger than Damien Lewis (44), who they chose to be Bond, right?

Three Bonds were at or over 50 on their last role as that characte. Connery was 53,Moore was 57, and Brosnan 49 with Craig at 47 in Spectre and if doing another would certainly be 50 at that time.

That being said. The stunts are incredibly more physical than in the pre-2000 films, but point in fact there have been older Bond actors all the same.

This PC is such bs. I didn't know who the characters were, but thought they probably reversed the main character's. I actually came on IMDb to look.... so they did... 24 too....... Original programing ...do whatever, just stop the insaniss.

reply

I doubt the show would be successful even if the races of the characters stayed the same. But you are right, its just more PC nonsense that needs to end.

We've gone backwards in the last 15 years.

If you're going to make a bad show about a good movie, atleast do it the right way.

No black people are going to watch this show because of the black cop being the good guy. In fact I think more would watch if a black actor was doing a Denzel portrayal.

But white guilty execs dont understand that.

Thankfully the change of race in this show shouldn't impact the story.

In saying that, they DID cast Elba to play one of my favourite characters ever who, for over 30 years, has been described as a tall, ugly, white Clint Eastwood lookalike in a story with a portion where race held massive relevance.

At first I didn't care, but now I'm reading The Dark Tower books for the 3rd time and it just f*ucks with my head. I keep seeing him as Idris Elba in my head so it takes me right out of the story when it gets descriptive about him. Completely pointless race change for the movie and the producer claimed that anyone who complains is a "racist *beep*

reply

Why is it that every time I see anything with a minority in it all you fools start ranting about race?

Stop focusing on race all the time and try focusing on quality instead, of which this show had none whatsoever judging by the trailer. None of you even bothered to address that, too busy wrapped up in whining about racial roles and political correctness as always.

It's people like you and your obsessions with racial equality/inequality who cause all this PC crap that the rest of us have to suffer through.

reply

PC? its about showing the most compelling story. Paxton bad is where its at.

Why would even WANT a rehash of a film you already saw?

reply

@tyrexden

That isnt the point. The casting called for a "good" black guy and a "bad" white guy.

They didnt all of the sudden see Paxton's acting and say "we gotta switch the races of these guys ASAP!"

They went into the casting with the way the show is, and thats the issue and problem with today's current PC society.

Once this awful show is cancelled, another awful show will takes it place with the same liberal drivel.
