Im also under the impression that whole he did the Lion King like a real movie project and got in the studio to do voices over the course of weeks he basically did the Lion Guard super quick. Like in a day (OK yeah he only had a few lines- better make that hours instead of a day).

This was a low budget Disney sequel and from what I saw in terms of production and they treated it as such.

You do realize that JEJ is in his 80s? Surely, you cannot expect anyone to sound the same in over 20 years. I thought he sounded great!
