VIFF review

Cristian Mungiu’s latest film is a study in the myopic futility of a corruption ridden culture. His Romania is shrouded in a gloomy resignation, implying at every other turn that life may not be short, but is nasty and brutish. A brief ray of hope, however faint and misguided, breaks through the clouds bearing over the film’s outlook in the final shot: www.cutprintfilm.com/reviews/viff-review-graduation/
