Sister Sabotage?

Was it Parker Posey's character's sister that reported her (out of jealousy, perhaps)? It just seemed odd that an unknown character reported her to the judges at the last minute for a frivolous reason. This could have been a competitor, I suppose. But after that, she got so sick (from the meal that she ate with her sister) that she couldn't perform - meaning she would ask her sister to step in. The viewer knows the sister had flexible morals (willing to sleep with a married guy she met literally minutes before), so it seems plausible. Seemed like this sister sabotage was implied but it was never revealed who did it.

I think it was the wife of the guy she slept with last year (the turtle).

I also thought it was the turtle wife of the herring mascot since Babineaux had slept with her husband.

It was Posey's character who wanted to try sushi, I assumed she just sick off of it. I don't think her sister seemed jealous or really wanted to play the armadillo.

Yep, (both of) your suggestions make more sense.

(With the sushi, though, I was considering that it was only Posey's character and her sister that ate together, and only Posey's character got sick, not that it was the sushi per se).

I watched this just an hour ago. When Posey's character asked her sister if they could have sushi, the sister definitely said she was not interested. When Posey told her that they also served fried foods, the sister agreed to go with her but Posey was the only one who ate the raw sushi, so it is definitely the sushi that made her ill. The sister then made some comment about people were not meant to eat fish raw or something to that effect. I also agree that the sister did not exhibit any sort of jealousy or rivalry - there was actually quite a bit of pleading on Posey's part to get her sister to fill in for her.

You've done some bad things, sweetie.

I thought it would be revealed that Posey's character sabotaged her sister back in high school so she couldn't fulfill her dream of becoming a college cheerleader.

But I do think it was the turtle who turned her in, but it really doesn't matter.

I thought this was a nice plot that was sadly underdeveloped in that Parker Posey was the dominant sister who perhaps has taken her sister for granted and the other sister may have had some resentment at following her sister around and being second fiddle, but they really came together at the end and their bond showed through.
