Complete and utter drivel

Sat down on Friday night to see what was on, decided on this new 'comedy' offering on the BBC, after 10 minutes of childish humour accompanied with canned laughter and terrible acting i had to come to IMDB to check it's rating; I was shocked to see it has 6/10, i feel it should be much lower than this.

It feels like something of children's tv, i wouldn't actually rate it so low if it was shown in the evening, but for 10:30 at night, i want something a bit less childish and something more intellectually humorous, deeper characters.

The quality of the BBC comedy used to be so much better than it is now, maybe it's just my older years (26), they don't seem to have made/shown anything genuinely funny in years.

It seems that someone asked a question they shouldn't have asked, namely...

What would happen if we took Vicious, moved it to Scotland, and turned the characters straight?

You're absolutely right. Childish is the best way to describe it. And who were the people laughing at literally every line?

Although I found this funny (I'm 38) It's in no where near as amazing as Still Game. I'm looking forward to next episode but unsure if it will continue to make me laugh. Like all things though people laugh at different things. I laugh at most things in life though . It would be impossible to make comedy that everyone liked without someone getting offended or not finding it funny. I've yet to find a comedy that everyone likes. It's impossible. The canned laughter in this is bad though. I loved Gary Tank commander though but BBC canned that and created their own bluestone42 (I actually liked both) .

Have you noticed that the BBC seem to make these sitcoms and then put them out well after peak time - The Sun Trap and The Wright Way being other examples - because having seen the finished product they seem to have lost faith in them pulling in a big audience.

That's very true actually. They seem to be hotchpotch. Especially getting rid of BBC3 that had the best comedy shows I've ever seen !
