Episode 1 (SPOILERS)

I have just watched this and although the setting and the acting is OK, the story is somehow unsatisfying. I am left with a seen it all before feeling, and although you can't expect plausible in a supposedly supernatural storyline, I wondered why the haunting spirit wanted to kill ducklings (goslings?) and damage farm machinery.

Also it seemed strange that although in possession of Harriet, she was nevertheless able to be hypnotised. And the reason for all the growling and sexuality and the mayhem - the spirit wanted to be baptised. An odd desire for a horrible personality who was probably a murderer.

The ending was a huge anticlimax - I expected much more of a fight. A shout, I got a whimper. Things don't go that easily today!! And why - one wonders - did John commit suicide by plough? Maybe that will be explained in further episodes but I doubt that I will stick around for them.

Couldn't agree more - a huge disappointment. A bit of style but no real substance. Only seen one episode but it was turgid stuff with nothing even approaching a moment of true "creepiness". We were warned about potentially upsetting scenes and that was accurate - this was pretty traumatic for those of us expecting well constructed drama with a supernatural twist.

StrangeBedfellows, the baptism supposedly drove out the evil spirit from Harriet's body. She was then free from possession by Abel was-his-last-name-King? Kane? I don't recall.

My theory is Harriet was possessed by many spirits. BTW, psychopaths kill animals before they work up their way to humans. Is Harriet a psychopath? Perhaps. My best friend's younger sister is a sociopath with absolutely no conscience. They are very different from normal people, they lie when it's easier to tell the truth and they're extremely manipulative. We don't know enough about Harriet at this point. (Episode 4.)

Bored now.

Thank you both for responding - I am afraid I didn't stick with it and have forgotten the plot !!!
