Cancelled

There will be no second series.

Let me be the first to say I think the BBC is a bunch of dicks. Huge disappointment. Only 6 episodes and one season. Never even gave this show a chance to catch on and find an audience before they dump it and move on to the next one.

The show was on to a losing game, I don't know what the BBC were thinking. It was aired during Euro 2016 and it had a Tuesday evening slot,it deserved to be shown on a Sunday evening. It's really sad cos it had a good story with a great cast.

reply

Do you know if this show reached an audience outside the UK , was it shown in the US ? I want to hope that maybe it could be picked up by Netflix or Amazon and continue but I guess little chance of that happening. Just another disappointment from the BBC.

reply

I think it's gonna be shown on PBS in America, you would have to send them an email to be sure.It will probably show up on Netflix at some point.

reply

We're watching it in Australia on BBC First, Foxtel channel. Just watched ep 3 and am loving it.

We receive the BBC here in the Netherlands and I'm quite hooked! I can't believe they canceld it!
I signed this petition, but I think thick headed BBC won't respond.

I thought it ended quite well. Open indeed but in such a way it leaves much to the imagining. Nathan obviously is not relieved of his issues and goes on to kill his wife. But when? How? Being called "notorious" suggests he killed her on purpose.

Maybe a two hour TV movie will be made if enough ground swell from fans convinces the BBC it is worth it to them.

Probably cancelled because the writer never expected a second season and had written himself into a corner with this mess.
It was interesting in parts, but when you start messing around with time travel and/or parallel universes then you'd better be damned sure that you know what you're doing, and this writer didn't.
So an average series bites the dust.
No biggie.

Thanks for that info. It was difficult for me to get into. I can see why an audience would wane. However, by episode 4, I felt that it was getting better. Episode 5 and 6 were both excellent.

reply

I am disappointed to hear that , I thought it was excellent.

Maybe you may like "The Fades"(1 series) or "In The Flesh"(2 series) both BBC series and enjoyable if short lived.

reply

Oh yeah, "The Fades" was excellent. Sad to see that one go as well, although not as gutted as hearing about this. :(

reply

Sad to see it go. Watched it on a fire box. Loved it

reply

Very sad to hear that. I quite liked the show. It was brilliant and beautiful. 😖

reply

I really liked this series. I don't know why it didn't get renewed. It was better than most of the boring, unoriginal shows out there.

reply

No! I just finished the last episode tonight. I'm in San Francisco, California and watched it on my laptop through the "watchseries" site. What a bummer it got canceled. They're leaving us throughly hanging. At least when the brilliant Penny Dreadful got canceled, they had an ending - albeit a rather rushed one. So frustrating...so not cool.

Any other shows like this one out there?

reply

Perhaps you could rewatch it on BBC America at the end of the month when it comes out? There's hardly any publicity about it but if ratings will be high over in your country, maybe it might get a second chance?
