We saw this last week. I highly recommend it. The cast is perfection. Laurie Metcalfe, Tracy Letts, Saoirse Ronan and the rest are sublime in this. Greta Gerwig is a fine writer and director. Really, I would love anything these people did together. I WISH we could see more movies like this one. It's a respite from all the super hero, robot, big budget movies out there. I love Tracy Letts as an actor, and he plays such a sympathetic character in this. I can't say enough good things about this one, go see it!

I agree with everything you said. It was excellent, the best film of the year, I think. I predict Lady Bird will win best picture.

I agree, this is definitely in my top 10 of the year. The cast was excellent.

It wasn't bad. But discontented teenage girls have been a cliche in movies for a few decades. It would have been more of an accomplishment to have written a movie about a happy teenage girl, but that would be more difficult, so Gerwig fell back on the cliche.

I liked it, but all of the best lines were spoiled at the Golden Globes and Oscars.

It would have been nice to have seen it before so much was given away.
