Why not just get the bus?

Yeah, the whole parachute scene seemed forced filler, they could have just as easily taken an aircraft, landed in paris, and then take the bus.

Answer: Because it's an action movie, and jumping out of a plane made for a cooler scene.

Short answer: cuz that wouldn’t deliver any thrills.

Parachuting into Paris is how things are done (it’s how Tom Cruise loves to do it) in Mission Impossible. In return we got a tense and wildly exciting HALO jump sequence. Nuff said.

the explanation in the movie was, that all legal ways to enter europe/paris? were monitored
