1. Fallout/Ghost Protocol (I’d argue Fallout is the greatest but I like them equally)
2. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
3. Mission: Impossible
4. Mission: Impossible III
5. Mission: Impossible II (solid Woo action flick, below average MI film)

I kinda jump back and forth between III & 1. While 1’s a standout MI with some of the best direction and suspense in the entire series, III’s visual style, pace, twists and performances (incredibly intense) are something else entirely. Moreover, as well-constructed as the character-driven first installment is, the series for my money has since improved in every way after III.

And I know to a select group 1’s direction remains untouchable - a handful out there even say the film is the only worthy one in the series (lol). But the latest one easily overshadows it in every single aspect. And frankly, apart from its more iconic moments (vault sequence, Phelps twist), the original as a whole doesn’t pack a punch like it used to. Still a great movie with a top-notch story.

Overall, this is a fantastic franchise that somehow keeps getting better.

1. Mission: Impossible- Fallout ----9.5/10(IMO one of the greatest action movies ever)
2. Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol----9/10(IMO has the Best Moment In The Franchise with Cruise on the Skyscrapper)
3. Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation----8.5/10
4.Mission: Impossible II (The only one I don't like)----8/10(Fun, But not a Great Movie
5. Mission: Impossible III---8/10(IMO Very Good, But for some reason I cant rewatch it very much, I rewatch it least)
6. Mission: Impossible---8/10

for The MI franchise is one of the best franchises going, especially the last....The last 3 which really have case to be made as one of the best trilogies ever if you choose to look at them as a trilogy, The Quality of the last 3 films have just been TOP NOTCH

All respect to those involved with the last 3 MI films, there was a lot of talk about The franchise being dead after part 3 and Even Part 4 was originally intended to be a soft reboot or written for Jeremy Renner to take over the franchise going forward, But Due to the excellent quality, excellent direction and Great performances by Cruise, The Franchise was instead taken to NEW HEIGHTS and Now Its almost Unimaginable to picture the franchise going on with out Cruise....

I wish The People involved with The Die Hard Franchise would take notes and learn from what Producers and everyone involved with The last 3 MI films has done....this is how you rejuvenate a franchise and take it to New Heights

M:I 1 is the worst by far. De Palma makes terrible movies with one or two inspired moments. Has an eye for the iconic but can't do much else competently.

Best is a tie between GP and RN.

Used to rank Mi1 higher but recently watched it again and saw the truth. So I stand and dare.
A similar revelation occurred to me rewatching Scar Face. De Palma has these inspired moments that carry his limp movies. I no longer hold De Palma in the high regard I once did.

Other way around. It reveals the director's flaws.
It has the helicopter scene and the iconic heist scenario. That heist was so good that it set the plate for action films to come for eternity. Other than those parts, it is an awkward film that is loaded with foolishness. From Voight's hiding in the closet at the end to walking up into stab range to identify the stabber, etc. The movie is bad. 4 or 5 out of 10 bad (thus not complete garbage)
ScarFace reveals the same sort of thing. There are a handful of great quotable scenes but the rest of the movie is a boring slog through ill fitting acts.

For me they go in this order..

Mission: Impossible III (9/10)
I like -- the locations, pacing, direction, all the cast especially Philip Seymour Hoffman

Mission: Impossible II (8.5/10)
I like -- Thandie Newton, the action choreography, the pigeons!

Mission: Impossible (7/10)
I like -- the story, Emmanuel Beart, the darker mood

then the next 3 are exactly equal:

Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol (6.5/10)
I like: Simon Pegg, the locations
I don't like: Paula Patton

Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation (6.5/10)
I like: Simon Pegg
I don't like: the story

Mission: Impossible- Fallout (6.5/10)
I like: Simon Pegg
I don't like: the botox faces
