they got lucky (Spoiler)

yes, it's a movie so it happens. But, in the beginning they are told that the nuclear weapons expert was kidnapped by the Apostles, etc. They then retrieve him (off screen) and set him up with the Wolf Blitzer scene. During that scene they find out that he is part of the Apostle group or at least complicate in their plans. The fake news report details the three bombs going off in Rome, Jerusalem and Mecca. However, the Apostle's plan was to detonate them on Kashmir. I guess it was possible that he didn't know the exact locations of detonations. But they did take a chance with being specific in the set up to trick him.

They were lucky throughout the entire movie... How this movie ended without the nukes going off was a miracle... There are so many scenes in this movie where luck is the only thing that saves the day... I know it is part of the MI universe but it got really tiresome I actually got bored at the end...

The action was great... the characters were cool... but how Ethan is still alive at the end is beyond believe... So half way through the movie it just began to get boring... As the story was just way to unrealistic...

agreed, about 15-20 minutes too long. since there was not much in the movie other than action scenes they could have cut them down a few minutes each.

There were a lot of Tom Cruise runing around;-)

Ethan still being alive is beyond belief and the story got too unrealistic?

U sure you’re familiar with the Mission Impossible series? ;) Ethan in Fallout barely comes close to defying the laws of physics like he does in previous Mission Impossible installments. And this is funny because I thought the entire film was perhaps the most realistic (or least unrealistic depending on you look at it) since the first one.

Yes, we know Ethan will always survive the “unsurvival”, but watching the wild stunts Cruise performs and seeing how all the action is executed and how close Ethan and his team come close to failing (Baldwin’s character wasn’t so lucky as you saw), makes for a thoroughly exciting and tense movie experience. Plus having a tight script, which is not the norm for most action movies, makes every moment in Fallout count. If all this became boring and pointless to you, well, then it’s safe to say this series isn’t for you.

You might be right... As the first one is my favorite;-) (You knew Baldwin was gone as soon as he appeared)... It is not that I did not enjoy parts of the movie (The bathroom fight is a classic)... And you are right the the action is executed to perfection... I would just like there to be more than action (Which is probably why I like the first one the best) How many chase scenes does a movie really need? I do not know how you define realistic and I know it is part of the franchise... but why do they for example need to establish that Ethan knows nothing about flying a helicopter for him then to be able to fly a helicopter... Is it that far fetched that a secret agent might have learned to fly a helicopter? Stuff like that is just ridiculous... But again I really enjoyed the first hour/hour an a half of the movie and then it just was more of the same... there is absolutely no reason for this movie to be 150 minuttes long. And it is not that I do not like long movies there just have to be a reason for the playing time...

> The bathroom fight is a classic

I preferred the one in True Lies :)
