case to be made This completes one of the greatesr Trilogies Ever?

I get this is a 6 film series.....But The last 3 MI films have been made with a completely different tone, have stories and characters that go across all 3 films ....

The Last 3 MI films very much feel like a Trilogy to me.....and I must say if you were to judge them as a Trilogy...they have a case as one of the Best Trilogies ever....

MI: Ghost Protocol-93% on RT
MI: Rogue Nation-93% on RT
MI: Fallout-97% on RT

all 3 excellent reviews on all major sites, All 3 NOTED for BEING the Best entry into the Franchise at the time of their release....

for me, I'm going to consider them a trilogy and I got to put the Trilogy in at least my top 10, Probably top 5.....

The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy is of course My #1 and IMO by far the greatest Trilogy ever made..

a guess a better question would be....Is The MI Trilogy the greatest ACTION Trilogy of all time....

The Bourne Trilogy is Up there(before we got 2 awful sequels)

The Matrix Trilogy- The Matrix The Matrix Reloaded The Matrix Revolutions (1 is ALL TIMER, 2 is decent, 3 is brutally awful)

Die Hard 1, 2 and 3 is great

Terminator Trilogy is good(1's a classic , Judgement Day is an ALL TIMER and Rise of The Machines is decent)

I Love The Riddick Trilogy(Pitch Black,Chronicles, Riddick)

and I love The Expendables Trilogy(2 great films in 1 and 2 but part 3 was terrible)

right now I think the Last 3 MI films as Trilogy might be the best action Trilogy as of right now though though.....

But for me Personal.....If JOhn Wick 3 is as good or better than Wick 1 and 2....It will take over my #1 greatest action Trilogy ever spot....

I can go along with that. But I will say that this entire series is one of the best franchises to ever bless the action genre. Even the uber-silly second one is entertaining as hell.

Here are the best trilogies in no order in my book.

LOTR trilogy
The Dark Knight trilogy
Toy Story Trilogy
Before trilogy
The new planet of the apes trilogy
The original Star Wars trilogy
The dollars trilogy
Colors trilogy
Mission impossible trilogy

The godfather trilogy and Spider-man trilogy I feel are exactly the same. Two great films and a third disappointing mediocre one.

How to train your Dragon series might be making this list soon if the third ends up being great.

Notice I tried to list the ones that maintained their quality throughout. The Dark Knight Rises may not be considered as good as The Dark Knight but it's still considered a great film in it's own right. Unlike say Spider-man 3...

Mission impossible definitely has a case for best action trilogy. However I feel as good as it is other trilogies I feel are better overall trilogies.

Each of the 6 movies were made up as they went and it's noticeable.

It's a great series overall and I do agree that the last 3 movies do share more
with each other, I believe it's mostly thanks to Brad Bird not only for finally giving
the series a tone/identity which McQuarrie has made consistent these last 3 films.

Bird included that last scene with Julia at the end of Ghost Protocol.

Tom Cruise has mentioned that since many fans have been asking about Julia
and that they can't "allow" Ethan to be with Ilsa without proper closure to Julia's story.
If I had to kill one I'd just go with Julia. Ilsa has some narrative value at this point and is set to be Ethan's actual love interest going forward, so the ex-wife that he still gets along with has to go. Personally I'd just rather be done with the Syndicate or Apostles at this point. It's not like they have any heat really.

Anyone else think Angela Bassett might take over the IMF now that Baldwin was killed off? I was kinda stunned they killed him. Either that or she was a one movie guest star and maybe Jeremy Renner comes back to become the new boss. Speaking of Renner, I don't think he was needed in this one. If you have another actual agent (as in not Luther or Benji) in this I doubt Cavill could do his heel turn so effectively because Renner would have been there.
