I had better hurry and watch the 1992 dvd (Dutch edition)

I saw bits of the 1992 BBC version (check out that cast) and bought the dvd last year in Ghent (Bruges's prettier sister).
I had better hurry up and watch it before this new version is shown.
I suppose it is a long time since the last version but I wonder if the 1992 version will turn out to be better than the current one? I fear the current version will be trendy and obvious?

Opening credits showong headlines about "terror" and immigrants.

The thing is the concepts are not unique to our time and with the rise of figures like Trump we clearly do forget the lessons of the past.

But the headlines in the credits really do lack any subtly whatsoever.
