Explain the ending please

I didn't quite get the ending - why did they suddenly seem all friendly again? In particular, Bianca tells Cosimo about the mother's call and then walks out dumping her wedding ring on he table on the way. Then next scene they're back holding hands and seem completely okay with each other.

reply

We're actually shown what's happened before, not after. It's one of the friends' earlier meetings, where Peppe says that next time he'll might bring his new better half "Lucilla" (feminine for Lucio).

reply

Thanks.

Since I posted my question, someone suggested it was the 'real' ending and the group never went through with the dare after all - the movie was just about what would have happened if they had done so. Basically, this would be a "it's all a dream"-type ending.

I think your explanation makes more sense and is certainly more satisfying,

reply

No, your answer is clearly wrong:
At the end of the film the fat guy says: I will introduce my Lucille when she gets better. So it could not have been their earlier meeting, it was the very meeting we saw, only the phone contents and calls were never made public.

reply

Audriano, you need to watch the movie again, but pay attention this time.

reply

I guess the game never happened. Eva asks Rocco why he didn't want to play it.

So they all remain total strangers one to another...

reply

That's what happened. At first, I thought the whole game happened and the ending wanted to show how the evening would have ended if they hadn't played it, but Eva and Rocco's conversation shows that the ending was actually real and they didn't play.

reply

It's really easy, you see ... the dare game never actually happened. If was all a "what if" scenario up until the point Bianca comes out of the bathroom.

We are then revealed that had they gone ahead with the game, all of their secrets could have actually been revealed.

Peppe was actually gay, there was no Lucille, but Lucio and that's why he came alone that night.
Lele was receiving pictures from some woman, which he went to check in the bathroom as soon as he got home.
Carlotta was playing some weird game with a man off the internet as she went home and quickly put her panties back on.
Cosimo and Eva were having an affair, as they texted each other when he was driving back home with Bianca. When Rocco asks Eva if the earrings she was wearing were new, they were actually the earrings Cosimo had bought for her.

I hope this helped :)

Everything makes perfect sense ... if the "what if" scenario goes up to the point where the hosts are back in their bedroom and the others outside the building. Because after Bianca comes out of the bathroom she tells Peppe to never present Lucio to the group and then throws her ring on the table on her way out. And the host (forgot his name) pushes Cosimo to go after her.

Or maybe the "what if" ends right after the pushing, when he gives Cosimo his jacket and they exchange those funny looks with each other, as if they both know about the earrings...

reply

The host didn't push Cosimo to go after her, he pushed him out of the house because he knew Cosimo was having affair with his wife. That's why those funny looks happened when he was giving him his jacket.

reply

How did the host know her wife and Cosimo was having affair? (Sorry if it had been mentioned before. I didn't get it.)

And is it the host's wife wanted the implant because Cosimo likes them bigger?

reply

The "what if" ends with Bianca and Lucio going outside looking at the moon (eclipse is gone) and at that point holding each other's hand

reply

Another possibility is, that they all just pretended it never happened. If they would aknowledge it happened, they would need to solve the issues, which would cause a realy big mess in life to most of them. Pretending that nothing happened was easier.
Actually, I dont see any hints that it was all only an "if".

And anyway, I stopped liking the movie, when the 17-years-old daughter called. I was disgusted by all the people listening to her private conversation with her father.

reply

It is not a possibility. As you can see the blonde girl doesnt have lipstick nor is her hair in a bun. And how would they be able to fake it like that?

The only weird thing for me is that the guy that didn't want to play the game was the only one that had nothing (except therapy which is not a big deal) to hide, and others went ahead although they knew they had a lot to lose.

And a therapist being the one to propose it?
How yes no

reply

By the end I was so annoyed by them all, that I didn't pay attention to lipstick or such details. Plus I don't like movies, where everything was only "if" or someone's dream or something like this. So I didn't consider it can be this case.

reply

therapist suggested the game because she had affair with cossimo and since he was there, she had no fear him to text her( if only he wasn't full retard)

reply

Looked to me like everyone was just moving on in semi-denial of the consequences.

reply

Then you need to watch the movie again, this time try and pay attention.

reply

🤦‍♀️

reply

The game was an alternate timeline
