Did you see what the French kids get for LUNCH?

OMG!

Every day, a 4-star gourmet meal!

Then they showed the kids the crap American kids get for lunch in the school cafeteria...!

That isn't food!

Too funny!

I'm very conservative but I gotta say, nutrition is one area where the free market does not seem to work and liberals have that one right.

Those school lunches and school policies show what different value systems there are between the French and US.

In the US, the goal is to screw over anyone, often children, so to make a few bucks. What's best for the kids isn't even in the equation. I bet most school systems are stuck in contracts with canned food suppliers. So they can't take advantage of cheaper, more nutritious local food.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Strangely enough I was't jealous of what the French had for school lunches, not after seeing what the Americans called a school lunch. Canada doesn't have a school lunch, which is strange considering the temperatures they have to deal with.

@DB_Pooperscooper It reminded me of a segment of Supersize Me, where they showed how fast food was served in school cafeterias. Schools don't even cook lunch anymore, they just get frozen food from the lowest bidder.

But they also showed an American school that was serving real food:

I thought about moving to France and telling them I'm a preschool dropout so I can eat well for the next several years. At least the next 4 - 8 anyways.
