It may not have been the primary reason for high imprisonment rates among African-Americans, but I'm sure it didn't go unnoticed that if you imprisoned enough people and deprive them of their voting rights, you'd have a definite impact on who gets elected, especially since so many states make it impossible even for ex-cons to vote. Haven't they paid their debt to society? So instead of worrying about how black families and communities get decimated when so many of their young men are prevented from being husbands, parents, and employed people, the PTB are perfectly fine with diminishing their influence and keeping the white majority in power. I always found it odd that so many black people are in prison considering almost every black man I know is very religious, goes to church or attends to whatever religious obligations he has, and basically tries to be a good person. This in itself should throw a light on what's going on. And it is pathetic that when white supremacists who call themselves true Christians attack black people, it's often in their churches. One wonders how they sleep at night.

"How was the war, sir?"
"As any war, ma'am, a waste of good men." (Poldark)
