Inaccuracy

Matt's gay kiss did not happen at a park bench with headlights, it happened in the apartment complex with Billy looking out of his apartment window - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNzMPS4TiYA

Here's another inaccuracy. Laura Leighton came on the show in January 1993. The movie said she came on in July of 1993.

reply

LOL. Laura Leighton came on the show two episodes before Heather Locklear did. They clearly said Heather joined the cast in January 1993.

No, Heather's first episode aired on January 27, 1993. Laura's first appearance aired on January 6, 1993.

And Heather did not show up half through season 1 like they pointed out. She first showed up on episode 21 of season 1, which had 32 episodes total. Daphne Zuniga is the one who showed up half way on episode 15.

reply

I wonder if they meant that Heather arrived half way through the year... MP started in July of 1992 so it was on for 6 months before Heather's arrival in January 1993. The first season ran til late May, so they really stretched out those last 12 episodes over five more months.

reply

Is that really the original clip? I always thought Matt came much closer to kissing on the lips before the cut away.

reply

Yep, that's the original scene.

reply

Also, they didn't show the bombs exploding at the end of season 3 they waited until the premiere of season four. They already had it filmed and then b/c of the Oklahoma City bombing they decided to wait. They ended season 3 with Marcia Cross pressing the detonator. No explosion whatsoever. It had nothing to do with a plane crash. Why would they change that?

reply

Also Kimberly lobotomizing jack wagnerhappened AFTER the apartment vomiting, and in the movie they said they already did that.... How do you get something like this wrong in a movie? WTF

 I apologize for any spelling/grammar mistakes. I'm on my phone 90% of the time.

reply

Actually, the plane detail is accurate - the original planned cliffhanger for season three was to have Kimberly take flying lessons, kidnap Sydney and crash the plane into the apartment complex. There's a Vulture interview from last year where the season three writers mention this, so I guess that's where the writers got the detail from.

With that said, there were many inaccuracies in the movie, just not that one in particular.

reply

But they shot the footage and then didn't air it due to the Oklahoma City bombing. They waited until S4E1 to air it. That's what I'm talking about. They acted like they aired that during the S3 finale. They also didn't show all the characters involved. And someone died due to that explosion. And Jake's brother died in the same episode. There was also the cliffhanger if Jake lived or not. They left out a lot.

reply

Models Inc had also been introduced at the end of Season 2 and been cancelled before Season 3 ended but this made it look like Models Inc. was in the drawing stages when the Season 3 finale was being planned.

reply

Yeah, but they ended the movie with them shooting the explosion scenes, which is accurate. That they later cut the footage and aired it at the start of the next season is a detail they left out.

The plane story was originally scratched because some nut crashed a private airplane into the lawn of the White House. They did have some bad luck with real world events when planning that cliffhanger...

reply

But they left out a lot of characters that were at the apartment complex when it blew. And they knew before the season ended that they weren't showing it. It should have been addressed properly in the movie and it wasn't.

reply

Richard Hart's wife, McKenzie died in the explosion. And Jake's brother died falling off a building.

reply

I can't believe you guys remember these details. MP was on so many years ago. I can't even remember details from two weeks ago!
