Having to repeat names

One issue I had was the constant saying of someone's name. Now I can get it with Courtney or Heather due to both actresses playing their roles look similar. But it bothered me when Doug kept repeating Vanessa. Hello she's only sister on there, who we gonna confuse her with?

I noticed that with all these "Unauthorized" movies in general - they always went overboard in saying someone's name. It seems awkward, because in real life conversations you don't always repeat someone's name when you're having a conversation with them. Of course you will say it for emphasis depending on the conversation, but you don't keep repeating it like they do in these movies. It's something I noticed right away in the Saved by the Bell and Full House Unauthorized movies, and I think they do it to convince us (the audience) of who the character is supposed to be. As if they saying the names over and over again, it will sink in for us that those are the characters and that the whole story they are portraying is "real".

Off off topic but perhaps to justify the above point...

I prefer this approach to having characters in movies and shows that are never clearly addressed on screen... I just finished "Empire of the Ants" with Joan Collins (pre Dynasty) and of the 12 of so main characters only about 7 or 8 had their full names mentioned by the half way point.... some would be only identified after the Ants killed them (What happened to Christine?, Where are Velma and Homer?). The funniest was that the two female LEADS (Broke Blonde Girl and Drab Beige Middle Aged Woman) were nameless until the end credits gave their birth names!
