Overall in my opinion I thought 'Fallen Kingdom' delivered and was a good sequel in general. I just think it's unfair to compare 'Fallen Kingdom' to the 1993 classic original. In the original it was the first time as an audience we saw dinosaurs on the big screen which was a magical moment. 'Fallen Kingdom' is the 5th installment in the franchise so obviously the magic is gone.

Yes 'Jurassic Park' is the better film but 'Fallen Kingdom' is still a strong sequel which I really enjoyed. What do you guys think?

I agree. It crossed all the right checkmarks for a fun action movie. It just wasnt something to write home about.

I enjoyed it myself. It's fine. It got good action scenes, less bickering than the first JW, and did do something different for a change. However, I do see the complaint when people compare it to the original film. And this is where the Disney Star Wars movies do it better (come at me bros) compared with the JW series but in their best moments, they do recapture some of that cinematic magic and awe.

I don't think you even have to go back to the original film to find Fallen Kingdom disappointing. It is disappointing in comparison to its direct predecessor Jurassic World. Hell, I even find JW3 more enjoyable.

I will at least give it this: It's somewhat entertaining as a pure B-movie if you can forget that it's a Jurassic film and not compare it to any of the previous entries. But as a part of the franchise--a franchise which I truly love--I couldn't help but be disappointed in it. They really should've done a little more work on the script before going into production.

I like it fine up until the mansion scenes begin, and even then it's still ok, just requires you to buy into some whacky stuff, but they couldn't keep going 'back to the island' over and over.

On one hand, I agree that the islands are played out. But on the other, the thought of a Jurassic film that doesn't take place on an island just doesn't feel right. Just thinking about it I can't help but feel that something is missing.

The whole concept of the park IS the core of the story.

I couldn’t agree more, really enjoyed Fallen Kingdom.
