Where was the in-universe media during the volcanic eruption?

The opening of the film illustrates the international importance of the volcanic eruption, but an army is able to extract the dinosaurs and ship them to the American Northwest without anyone noticing?
Also, how would Lockwood not notice the secret lab underneath his property? Wouldn't employees be coming in and out?

In Lost World the island was kept under wraps by the government, but not in this film.
