Indoraptor...

is SO USELESS. Barely got any screen time to do much of anything before it got destroyed or rather owned by (blue) raptor. All that brain and ability edge yet still got owned by a Velociraptor half the size of its own.

-Velociraptor intelligence
-Enhanced tracking
-Heightened sense of smell
-Night vision

A step down from Indominus Rex I say.

If you can point a lazer attached to something that looks like it is already a gun (suggesting you could just as easily point a real gun) and press a button why then do you need a dinosour to attack it at that point when a real bullet would be more effective. Yet all those idiots wanted to bid over 20 million on it. Thats a pretty stupid weapon design.

Yea it is a step down. The indominus had camoflaughe.

reply

20 million is so little imo. I mean we trade sports players and such for way more. They trade them in the 100's of millions for top players which the Indoraptor is suppose to be the top predator in that movie.

Indominus also has 2 different types of camo.
-Cuttlefish to change its skin color to adapt to surroundings
-Tree Frog to remove its own thermal signature

-Pit Adder to detect thermal signatures

I agree a scientific marvel like any dino is worth more then 28 what ever million. I just think the movie is being overly preechy that *Selling* dinosaurs was the cardinal sin. And the whole mankind trying to defeat nature in general message never sat well with me. Cloneing dinosaurs is no more playing god then trying to defeat cancer or living in air conditioned environments. Mother nature is an S&M mistress that uses death and evolition to shape her pupils and then pits them against each other in the name of survival. What is so wrong with trying to advance medical and science to extend human life. Just cause mother nature killed off the dinosaurs doesn't make it wrong to clone them. I really hope people don't walk away from movies thinking experimenting with genetics is an afront to god and nature.

reply

DO YOU know about antibiotic resistance and bee colony collapse, there are real consequences to screwing with nature.

reply

Then we make new antibiotics for these new tougher evolved bacteria. We don't just give up and leave patients to die. Mother nature is screwing you by genetically programming you to die while giving you self preservation to suffer its inevitable approach. She's not your friend at all she wants you dead and at the very least requires all her children to eat each other in order to survive.

The causes of bee colony collapse are still unknown by the way.

reply

Wu said the genetic material was corrupted. Perhaps that affected its capabilities.

reply

I must've missed that part, but that would help explain why the IndoRaptor seemed to have such a poor sense of smell (and the auctioneer guy touted how it had some of the highest animal intelligence and sense of smell seen in the world). And yet, it couldn't even find Bryce, Chris and Maisie when they were just two feet away hiding. Even a cat could sniff them out. I guess that particular IndoRaptor wasn't perfected yet, and not every ability was heightened.

reply

And yet it was able to somehow track Maisie all the way to her room from outside the mansion in pouring rain. Consistent continuity was not this movie's strong suit.

reply

Actually Wu said something along the lines of needing Blue's genetic if not blood or something to give Indoraptor some sense learning/training ability with humans else it's just another killing machine on the loose.
