Ouch! 4.3 on IMDB

I'd rate it somewhat higher... maybe 5 to 5.5 based mostly on the colourful location shooting.

I thought I'd watch it on Netflix for the presence of Tim Roth and Pierce Brosnan. Even they can't save this heist movie from being anything beyond mediocre though.

Weirdly structured... the movie starts with a long opening monologue by Nick Cannon who sets up the story. I thought I had clicked on the wrong movie he went on for so long. Then he more or less completely fades into the background to be replaced by Brosnan as the main character.

Most of the heist group are relatively unknown actors of assorted ethnic backgrounds... the better for international exposure I guess? None of them are particularly interesting despite the script's attempt to make each of them 'quirky'. I would never buy Nick Cannon naming himself 'Ringo' because he's such a fan of the ex-Beatle. And one awkward scene has a 68-year-old Pierce Brosnan macking on Jamie Chung who is 30 years younger than him.

At the end, when I saw Renny Harlin's name pop up as the director I was surprised. The guy who gave us a string of classic action movies -- Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, etc -- decades ago has definitely lost his mojo somewhere over the years.

Okay for a one-time watch if there's nothing better.
