Why would you not check the ingredients of the cake if you are highly allergic to nuts??!! No one is that stupid!
shareAgreed--that was hard to believe. Also, how did Sadie know the allergy was nuts? I don't recall hearing that mentioned. And Sadie said something about this being her teacher's favorite cake. Why would a cake with nuts be her favorite if she was allergic?

shareSadie said it was HER favorite cake, not the teacher's.
shareSadie saw the epi pen in the teacher's bag and then asked her tutor to explain what it was. So she figured out that ingesting any nut product would be fatal for her teacher, without the epi pen within reach.
But yes, Ms. Goldin should have been a LITTLE bit smarter about eating that cake!
