Yeah he is.

His character isn't all that far-fetched. I remember dealing with douches like him back in school.

reply

did not say he was far fetched. and douches still prevail in 2016.

Agree and was funny to side Sadie burn Dylan action figure.

reply

Yep, I was rooting for her when she did that. That little asshat totally deserved to have his action figures stolen and burned. He didn't even know she was a crazy murderer when he started bullying her for no reason. She was just a sweet little girl that smiled and offered him a pencil. I couldn't stand his little stuck-up friend Aliree either. I know these were just little kids, but they made their characters way over the top.

No, actually, they made these kids' characters quite realistic. Kids will attack other kids for absolutely no reason. Kids are often really mean. What I saw in those two kids toward Sadie was sadly, very normal, bully behavior. Picking on her because she's new, and because she's different. Different equals threat in the eyes of kids, and that pretty much sealed Sadie's fate with them.

If you think these kids' behavior was over the top, well, you must not have been bullied as a kid, and you were very lucky.

no disrespect to the person you are commenting to, but most people who think bullying doesn't exist or think that bullying in tv/movies today is over the top and not realistic...

might have been bullies growing up.

not saying the poster you are responding to IS a bully, but this is common. many bullies don't get that they are the problem in the relationship regarding to the person they are bullying.

'but they make me do it...'

Why didn't the teacher change the seats of all three of them? When I was a teacher, that's what I would have done. Troublesome kids like Dylan should be brought up to sit in the front where they're less likely to talk to others.

reply

I wondered why the teacher allowed the bullying to continue. Everyone always told Sadie how she needed to behave despite the bullying but didn't say or do anything to the bullies. I know that tends to happen in real-life too but the movie put too much emphasis on her mental illness and not on telling the other kids how to behave unless maybe they were purposely focusing on how she perceived what people were doing to her. The reason I say that is because in her reasoning, Sadie thought the teacher was going to get her kicked out of the school.

Because that's how our stupid school systems work. Although the teacher did give a snide look at Dylan when she pretended to give all three kids a lecture on interrupting the class.

I had an issue like that in middle school (7th grade). Oddly enough we all sat in the back of the class just like Sadie and Dylan. These 2 boys were always trying to grab my boobs or touch me and I was and I would get in trouble for telling them to stop or hitting them. It actually went on all yr long and continued through summer school as well. I actually ended up getting detention one time for trying to stop them from touching me. Then for 8th grade my english teacher (which is the class this happened in) became my guidance counselor and started to bully me. She told my math teacher I said things I never said and would yell at me for no reason. This lady seemed to hate me for some reason that still to this day I cant understand.

Ever consider checking your school records? You can always find out the mindset of your teachers and other school staff members and why they thought they had the right to treat you like crap. Too many self-proclaimed "experts" blame the violence in our schools on what kids see on TV or in movies, music and video games, and what not, when they should be looking at what goes on in the real lives of kids.

reply

That teacher was a complete bitch for allowing the bullying to continue. That little punk Dylan deserved it :) I smiled while she burned his precious action Roy lol

I think the teacher did have a problem with him. When she and his would-be girlfriend Samantha started hassling Sadie the moment she sat down in class, she was looking at him.

reply

yeah... but then she does nothing to combat it. she doesn't move Sadie's seat or take the bitchfriend away from him... nothing was done really.

That's how it was when I was in School. Some Kids are mean little *beeps* for no reason. I only had a few Teachers who stood up for me when I was picked on. Others just shrugged and ignored it. It stopped my Senior year tho.

Glad I'm not in School now. Graduated in 2003. I couldn't imagine everyone posting hateful or embarassing moments online.
