Clea DuVall

I first saw her back in 1999 when Girl Interrupted came out. Then she had a supporting role in The Faculty, as well as co-starring with Natasha Lyonne in But I'm A Cheerleader. (I really like that one.) I figured she'd be the kind of actress to do a few films, maybe do a TV show or two, and then fade into obscurity. Well, over 15 years later, Clea not only co-stars in this film, but she wrote and directed it as well. I have to say, I did not see that coming. This is something I may check out at some point, but not in the theatre. Plus, I thought Lyonne's career was pretty much done after her DWI arrest a while back and her playing the celebrity card with the arresting officer. I believe she also contracted Hepatitis at some point as well. But when she cameoed in American Reunion, it appeared as if she was able to get her career on track. OK then.

Clea also directed the Boyfriend music video of Tegan and Sara. And since you mentioned But I'm a Cheerleader, Natasha Lyonne and Melanie Lynskey were in that one too (they're in The Intervention).

Clea has been very consistent since her career has begun . Which is great since she is a wonderful actress. She was in Argo , American horror story, and Carnivale which was a amazing show. But I think the big surprise for me is Natasha Lyonne since she had a pretty bad drug problem. She has come back in full force . I am happy she got on orange is the new black and got her life together. She is a wonderful talent and I hope she continues in this upswing to even bigger heights.

Well, I watched this on On Demand. And I wasn't impressed with it. It's something that could have been made by hundreds of other indie filmmakers and screenwriters. I didnt even watch it to the very end, that's how uninteresting I found this movie. I wonder exactly what possessed Clea DuVall, a homely actress who was semi-famous for a few things she was in back in the late 90s-early 2000s, to write, direct and star in her own film. Because it didn't do a thing for me at all. Maybe I should stop watching indie films completely. That might solve the problem. Oh well.
