Honest portrayal of...

I read the previous post here and understand that the marriage/divorce angle may seem a bit contrived to some, but I thought Melanie Lynskey's portrayal of alcoholism in this film was really brilliant and realistic. Often in movies, characters that drink too much are shown as simply laughable, overly angry or out of control, whereas her character seemed to be actually dealing with an illness.
